We are pleased to announce that Travis Miller has once again joined Monitronics as Director of National Accounts. Travis previously worked with us as National Account Manager and Director of Dealer Development before becoming Vice President of Business Development for Alliance Security. Travis brings an outside perspective to our program, and will work closely with top producing dealers to foster sales growth, market expansion and dealer profitability.
Travis’ past experience includes leading a top producing door-to-door sales team, running his own security company, and helping to create the industry specific CRM resource, enGarde. Travis has been recognized on the SSN Top 20 Under 40 list and is known as a strong leader throughout the security industry.
We asked Travis five questions to help us get to know him better:
What attracted you to the security industry?
At first, it was just to have the opportunity to work with my friends. We all had been recruited out of college to relocate to Chicago and work for one of the premier summer programs in the country. I was able to find instant success in door-to-door sales and quickly became a top producer in the company. I’ve always had a knack as a leader and working with others and the security industry has opened the door for many opportunities to progress as a leader and work with a variety of teams.
What unique attributes do you bring to Monitronics/the sales team?
Communication, ability to think outside of the box and experience on the dealer side of the business are the three main attributes I bring back to Monitronics.
Not all dealers are prone for instant success and most are not far from reaching their goals. My experience on the dealer side of the business allows for me to find creative solutions for our dealer team and myself to engage further into our relationships with dealers and help them become more profitable and increase sales.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
If I’m not working, you’ll likely find me on the golf course making a double bogey…
What's the biggest lesson you learned as a door to door sales rep?
There are so many experiences and great things I learned throughout my time knocking doors and running sales teams, but the biggest lesson I took away was that hard work always prevails. I quickly learned that if you’re disciplined, humble yourself to learn from others and put in the hours on the doors it’s easily attainable to get 1-2 sales per day.
What are you most excited about in this new position?
From moving into the new building, to seeing a lot of new faces on our leadership team it’s obvious that a lot of exciting changes have happened over the past year here at Monitronics. I’m most excited to come back into the company and surround myself with such a great team of people to help continue to make Monitronics the best and most reliable dealer program in the country.
